Hello to Devin's family, Devin is so adorable. What a sweet little smile he has! My prayers are with you and have been since I heard of the accident. He looks great!! And from what Sherry has been sharing with me, it sounds like he's doing really well. I'm very excited about the progress he's been making and will continue to pray for more miracles. God bless, Chris Toledo, Ohio Pray4Michael@aol.com

Devin, You and your family are in my prayers. The progress you are making is nothing short of a true miracle. Continue working hard and you'll continue to get better and better. Remember, the Lord only tests those that he truly loves! Tarrin Walz
Hello Little Devin; my name is Sheila and my husband Johnny was the one that pulled you out of the water. I think of you and your family all the time. We are very happy to know you're getting better each day. You'll always have a part of my heart with you and the Lil' Blue Angel that was there that day. You are very loved. With Love and Hugs. Sheila Franquero
My prayer for Devin is that he fully recovers and becomes the young man that God intended him to be. Nancy Sweeter

Dear Devin, You are a very beautiful little boy. My family and I are so thrilled to read about how wonderful you are doing. Keep up the great work. Hugs from your friend, William (Near Drowning 9/4/01)
To Devin, his family and all that have worked so hard on his recovery and this site, It is really cool to see that there is still so much good in the world. To see how everyone is pulling together and working so hard, not only Devin's recovery, but also on the education and comfort of so many others that may be in a similar situation. As a father of 4 boys, I know exactly how adventurous (and fearless) they can be. To some extent, I am living this "miracle" with you. Although I can't really understand what it must be like, I can imagine how difficult it is and also rewarding to see so much progress. My thoughts and prayers are really with you; all of you, including Johnny and Sheila and those "behind the scenes" people such as the physical, speech and occupational therapists working with Devin, his family and those helping to create and maintain this website. It gives me strength to see your love, prayers, hope and faith being verbalized on this website. Keep up the good work, and never lose the faith that God has both given to us and expects of us. --T--
Thoughts and prayers have been with Devin since Rachael told me about his accident. It has been truly a miracle and God is good. Devin, We heard that you said your first word! Never in your Mama's life has she heard a word so sweet..."Mom"... God Bless you sweetheart! Janet & Jason
Dear Devin, I have known your mom since she was a young girl in 9th grade. Her and my daughter Rachael have been best freinds since that time and I have watched them grow from adolescents to young caring loving mothers. Rachael is not your mom, (although she thinks she is and loves you like you were her own). I too, love you a great deal and the news of your near-drowning was devastating to our family. Through the many prayers from family, friends and strangers, the good Lord realized how much you mean to us and knows we need you around for a long time yet. You are always so happy and such a good little boy, you just light up our lives. Thank you Lord Jesus for letting us keep this little boy and thank you for restoring his strength and abilities and for his general improvement we see everyday. Love, Christine Espeland, (Rachael's Mom)
Hey Baby Boy- Well I just want you to know how much i love you little guy. I look at you and first I cant believe it happened but foremost I cant believe how awesome you are doing. hi devin
Hey angelface, Aunt Sherri loves you soooo much, You are making people believers, you are making them better human beings. You have suffered so much and fought back so hard, what an inpiration you have been to me, Someday I hope to be able to tell you that in a conversation we are having together. You keep fighting and I will keep fighting for you. When you are weak I will be there, when you are scared I will be there, for every victory and ever set back, I will be there to love you. When I am with you I truly feel like I am in the presence of an angel. I love you little man........ someday soon Aunt Sherri is going to buy you gum....

Another Devon at 21 mos, fearless, loved the water, jumped into her pool. So much alike, now unfortunately, more alike. Hopefully, both Devin & Devon will meet & have a long conversation.
This is Michael May, Devins dad and although I have not been saying much I am as much a part of his care as anyone and he is doing so wonderful. He is eating alot by mouth now. He also is up to somewhat of a low crawl now and is getting around quite well. We have taken him to the pool and he loves the water just as he always did. he is starting to try to pull himself up on the furniture to play with his older brother and cousin. We have been doing acupuncture once a week with him and I think that is realy helping with the fine motor skills. Every day he has something new to show us, and we are confident that he will continue to recover even more in the next few months, and years. I encourage anyone in this same situation to never lose hope. This whole thing has brought me a lot closer to God. And before not being one to pray much I find myself doing on a dayly basis.
Devin...Your Uncle Justin loves you and is praying for you every day to get better. Michelle, stay strong, and I love you. God knows the plans He has for each and every one of us. I miss you all very much. Even though I'm so far away, I'm there in spirit. Love, Uncle Justin.
Devin...we are praying for a miracle...praying every day and believing, expecting, thanking God for what He's already doing, what He will continue to do. I believe God has a special plan for you, Devin. When I held you in the hospital room, I felt a connection that will always remain. I'll pray for you always. Love you... The Russells, Donald, Karen, Kelsey, Tyler, Austin, EJ, Sean, Josh

Dear Devin and family, What a blessing to read your story here! I read Karen Kingsbury's book "Rejoice" tonight as a blizzard rages outside my home in Boston, and at the end Karen mentions your story and website, and how she drew from your story to weave the novel together. I am an OT myself, working more than full-time with children 0-3 with special needs and challenges (a lot of very very difficult cases), and am reminded every day of the grace of God. As a therapist, I am so impressed with the progress Devin's made; as a servant of the Lord, I acknowledge once again that only He knows outcomes and the courses each individual life will take! Devin's miracle is an inspirational story; may the Lord's joy continue to sustain you. Blessings, Leslie B., Boston, MA
I read of your story in Karen Kingsbury novel REJOICE. I too know of a family that is going through a similar situation. Their son however, went through the windshield of a vehicle. He was in a coma for nearly a year before he started coming out of it. The Dr. thought he wuold live in a vegatative state, but through God's wonderous miracle he made huge strides. The last report I had heard this 19 yr. old young man was at a 3-4 yr old level but continuing wonderous growth. I have heard that miracles do not happen in this day and age, but I do not believe that. Your son is one of those living miracles. Praise God from whom ALL blessings flow. A sister in Christ, Rhonda
I just finished reading Karen's book rejoice and have just met Devin. I will be praying for this precious little guy and for all of his family. Thank you for your testimony and faith so evident. I live in Indiana and have 3 children of my own. From time to time I will check Devin's web site. Will be praying and thanks to Karen for sharing her friend with me. Lana Zeltwanger Bremen, Indiana
I am the Parish Nurse @ UGUMC in NC. I got your story and web site from Karen Kingsbury's book. Devin's story is truly an inspiration. When I first started as an RN 31 years ago there was a little boy "Marty Baugus" hit by a car. The nurses prayed with the parents and saw Marty's eyes brighten when his mother walked in. The doctor did not believe us. On Christams Eve I asked a minister to put on a santa suit and bring Marty's train set he had asked for months earlier to the intensive care unit. his mother stood in the corner and watched. I stood on a chair with a camera and took a picture of his eyes and smile when he saw santa ( he was on a respirator and other tubes coming out of his body. (the doctor couldn't deny his response) the next day Marty was sent to a larger hospital. His recovery was slow, however, he grew to be a young man with no restristions. I thank God each day for answered prayers when mnakind was giving up. Devin will be in my prayers everyday. and so will his family, Love in Christ, Snadi Thomasson, RN
Hey Devin, I read your touching story from the back pages of Karen Kingsbury's book, Rejoice. My heart goes out to you and your family. I am keeping you in my prayers. Take lots of care and God Bless you and your family.
I just read Karen's book, Rejoice, and I rejoice with you that Devin is doing so well. I am a mom and a speech therapist so your story hit me on two levels and brought tears to my eyes. I will continue to pray for Devin. Keep pouring your love and God's love into him. I'm sure that you'll get it back again in spades! Cheryl

I just finished Karen Kingsbury's book "Rejoice" and she compares Devin's life with that of a character in her book. God is truly ammazing! I know you rejoice every day to have Devin with you but I also know that extra prayers will continue to make your journey more bearable. Thank you for sharing your life with the "web world" to see. You never know the lives you may be touching. All My Love and Prayers, Pam Russell pamrussell@marykay.com
I came to your site as a ersult of reading about Devin at the end of Karen Kingsbury's book Rejoice. I am so thankful that you have your little boy with you still today, and that the attitude that you display is one of thankfulness. Still, I cannot imagine the loss---all the lasts you must remember and all the firsts that may never be. I pray that God will continue to bless you, your family, and Devin with His peace and give you all what you need for each day. I love his post-accident smile pictures. May you see many, many more. In His love, Charlene Brewster
I submited my first message before I meant to. It is wonderful and encouraging to hear stories of God working miracles today. Devin looks like a very happy boy. My family will be praying for yours. Abby Coffey

God is so good!
I heard about Devin's accident through reading Karen Kingsbury's book. It is so exciting to see God's faithfulness in restoring Devin back to health. I was touched by his story as I'm sure all are who hear about it. May God bless you as his parents as you continue to witness HIS faithfulness!!
What a beautiful little boy you have! It never ceases to amaze me how God can produce such miracles out of such tragedy. When I hear stories such as yours, my faith is strengthened SO much. It makes me wonder why I ever let it waiver. Your website is amazing! What a praise to our Father in heaven! Especially your section on "Devin's Prognosis". I was made aware of your sight through a book written by Karen Kingsbury. God has certainly blessed me by leading me to your story today. Your family will now be in my thoughts and prayers. I look forward to updates on your site. May the Lord God, our Father, bless and keep you and your family. In Christ, Liana K. Mazzei Chandler, AZ
Hi Devin, read your story first in Gary Smalley & Karen Kingsbury's REJOICE. God is awesome is all i can say. God bless U. Toyin, Nigeria
I was so touched when I finished the book "Rejoice" by, Karen Kingsbury & Gary Smalley. I had to get on your web page. As I was reading about Devin, the first thought that came to my mind, was the scripture about the blind man. They asked why that man was born blind? Did he sin or was it his parents sin. Jesus said it was neither. It was for the Glory Of God. I truly believe He was talking about Devin. Thank You for sharing your "Miracle" with me. God Bless you all. You will be in my thoughts & prayers. I will stand along with you believing God for Devins Full recovery. Thank You again. Sharon Ognibene
When I first heard of Devin in Karen Kingsbury's book, I was so shocked to know that the miracle she wrote about in her book was true. My throat got a lump in it and I held back my tears; I know what it ia like to fall on your knees and pray in an emergency room when you've just been given a bad diagnoses. My son's accident wasn't from drowing, his was from a blunt trauma to the head. I nearly lost him; I stayed there on that floor and prayed, got up, wiped my tears off my face, and put on my strong face and went and told the family the bad news. I believe we moms have a special gift from God. I'm so blessed beyond words of what you have done for your son, your dedication and your relentless hours of prayers and praise. I agree with you for his full recovery and not put God in a box and just accept whatever you can get, believing God for anything is possiple is His Word! May God richly bless you and fill you with His strength! A. B.
I just read about Devin in Karen Kingsbury's book Rejoice. Devin is amazing and the miracles God is performing in your lives should remind us all that nothing is impossible with Him! God bless you! Melissa in Ohio
I just got through reading Karen Kingsbury's Redemption series of 5 books. She referred her readers to your web page. Devin is truly a miracle boy, God must have great things in store for him. I'm a nurse and I know what 18 minutes of lack of oxygen should do to the brain. God truly meant this little man to show everyone how great His power and miracles are. God bless Devin and his family and may he continue to improve each day. Glodec123042@aol.com
I read the book called Rejoice by Karen Kingsbury and saw the link to your website there. God is so good.......I pray for Devin's continual recovery and for God to continue to sustain your family. With joy in God's love Yvonne Gill Anthem, AZ
I have been reading some of the guestbook entries and was surprised to see so many references to Karen and Gary's book REJOICE. That is where I also learned of this website. There aren't many words that can say the AWESOMENESS of God's healing. and it is also truely a shame that it leaves doctors speechless when God works against their odds. I will continue praying for your family, and for those who are also fighting against the dr's prognosis for their families. Devin: You are truely blessed to have such a strong praying "family" around you. I pray you will continue to amaze the dr's and that God will continue His healing in you. Miracles DO happen, because of GOD!!!! Love and Prayers, MF, Manitoba Canada
I found out about Devin's website after reading Karen Kingsbury's book Rejoice & found out Haley's drowning & progressive recovery was based on Devin's story. Devin's story is truly amazing! As I read about his accident & recovery & looked at the pictures,I was deeply touched. I believe God has some very special plans for your special little boy! I will pray for his continued recorvery. I feel he has great things ahead of him because he is already teaching everyone one who reads his story about the power of our living, loving God! May God continue to bless Devin & his family. In Christs' love, Sharon R. Smith, Flemington PA
hi as a mother of three and a grandmother of seven i can understand your joy at devins progress keep stretching his bounderies and dont get to discourged if things dont go as quick as you would like we are working in gods timeing not ours .Just to let you know devin can do more than me as i still cant eat spagetti with just a fork
I just finished Karen Kingsbury's book "Rejoice" and read about Devin in the back. I pray Devin will continue to make the remarkable progress he has made. Thank you for sharing your experience. Nancy Osborn, Plano, TX
As a mother of 4 and grandmother of 7, I cannot imagine going through what your family has endured, but I know too that with Christ ALL things are possible. How wonderfully blessed we are as His children and my heart goes out to families who have tragedies and try to survive on their own. I have a 20-year-old son with Down Syndrome who is the joy of my life. He has blessed our family so much as well as all who know him. Situations and people that the world view as hopeless or merely instruments in God's hands to draw us closer to Him. God bless you in your day to day struggles and heartaches and keep looking up. Love and prayers from phylis1143@yahoo.com
I have to share what happened with me. I sent a donation last month to Devin. Well, I'm not in a church right now. I knew I needed to tithe & wasn't sure where to tithe too. I had felt it for a few days. Friday I was on the computer & all of a sudden Devins page popped up on my compuer. That of course was my answer. I am sharing this with you because, I feel led to let you know,"God will always supply Devins needs." I am always amazed at the way God works. God Bless you all. Your in my thoughts & prayers. 4/11/05 Sharon
May God continue to bless and heal Devin. Thank you for sharing your miracle. It reminds us that nothing is too big for God. Lori
I discovered your webpage after reading Karen Kingsbury's book "rejoice". I cried upon seeing your pictures and how great Devin looks. You indeed have seen a miracle firsthand. We have a 4 year old son who has some health issues. Not from a drowning, but rather having had a stroke as an infant. We have him in occupational therapy and also starting physiotherapy. He too is doing great and we thank God for that! Children are a blessing and we need to thank God for that each day! Praying that God will continue to bless you and heal Devin. Charlotte Unrau Manitoba, Canada
Dear Devin, It must have been scary for you in the water. You are a cute little boy. I liked your story. love, Eric age 8
I just recently learned of Devin's story while reading a book by Karen Kingsbury. Reading about your family has helped me to cherish my children even more then I did already. You are in my thoughts and prayers! Thank you for allowing your story to be told so that Jesus could use it to touch us! God Bless! Deborah Simon Cadillac, Michigan USA
I just finished reading Karen Kingsbury's book, Rejoice and saw your story there. I was in tears throughout the book but then knowing that this really happened has brought more tears...tears of hurt but also tears of JOY for our AMAZING God!!! I am in awe of Him. I can tell you are too. You are an inspiration. Devin, you have touched more hearts than you'll ever grasp here on earth.
I just finished ready one of Karen Kingsbury's books and me wrote about Devin in the back of her book. My heart was touched. I have an 8 month old little boy who is starting to get around. We help him pray before he eats and we will make it a point to start praying for "our friend Devin". Tana Robichaud, Sacramento, CA
I just finished reading a Karen Kingsbury book and in the back she wrote of Devin's Story. I can only imagine the terror of it all but God is awsome! I have an 8 month old little boy named Titus and we are teaching him to pray before meals. I will make it a point to help him pray for Devin. Tana Robichaud - Sacramento California
I just reviewed the last few pages of a book titled "Rejoice," by Karen Kingsbury. For some reason, I had not read those pages when I completed the book some time ago. Now, with a 2-1/2-year-old grandson moving cross country to be closer to his grandpa and me, and because Aiden is also a boy who is unafraid of trying anything, this story struck a chord with me. My husband is a pastor who seeks to find comforting words to people who experience disasters with their children, but Devin's story and his family's willingness to work with God instead of turning against Him will give him words of hope for others. Devin and Family, you are in my prayers!
Hi Dev, its Sammy. Your big cousin. I dont get to see you very much right now, I moved away but every time I come to visit, I am amazed at all the new things you can do. In fact, just yesterday I came over and you walked right up to me, gave me a hug, and covered my shirt with the chocolate cookie that you were eating. Sometimes when I think of the accident I wonder why God didnt take you to heaven. I hurt because I wonder what its like, and if you know there is something wrong? I worry because someday soon, you will be a big boy in big boy school, and kids can be so mean. I wonder why a beautiful, energetic little boy like you had this happen to them? But then, when I see you smile and laugh and clap when you have walked an extra step, I know that you are going to change people's lives, you have already changed mine. I know that within that hurt, struggling little body is the same little boy who we chased around. You make a lot of sounds now, like you are trying to talk, boy I cant wait to hear what you have to say.I love you so much. I wish I could bring you home and take care of you. But there are too many people that love you and would fight me for you... so for now, our visits will have to do. But I always think of you and the miracle that you are. I still wish this wouldnt have happened to you, but I know that someday, we will all understand it... you are part of God's will... Stay strong, keep trying and until next time play and giggle and remember that I love you and miss you...
I read the book Rejoice, and found this website mentioned in it. This is amazing to think God did it. I love you Devin, my brother never made it on his own. God bless, KC
I found out about Devin through Karen Kingsbury's book, 'Rejoice'. I'm praying for him and thanking God for his recovery thus far.

I just read about Devin's story in Rejoice by Karen Kingsbury. Devin's story is so amazing and I pray that Devin will continue to get better. Your story has been a blessing and reminds me of how great God is. Thank you for sharing this miracle. Amy Starkville, MS
I am the mother of two little girls (one is a 3 year old blue eyed blond, like Haley) and I cried many tears while reading "Rejoice", first sad and then happy tears. How awesome it was for me to find that Haley is real in the person of Devin! Miracles do happen. Looking at your website and the progress Devin has made further proves how good God is! You are all in my prayers. Emily, Midlothian VA
I just finished reading Karen Kingsbury's book, Rejoice. I was so touched by the story that I had to read the real life version for myself. What a blessing your web site is. Thank you for sharing Devin's story. He sounds like a very amazing child with a heart of joy. And he is so cute! Jeremiah 29:11 is one of my favorite verses in the Bible and now it will be even more special to me. It will always make me think of and pray for Devin. Thank you and God bless you! Kathy Minnesota
What a mracle. Praise be to God. Leigh Warren
I just finished reading Karen Kingsbury's "Rejoice" and I do rejoice with you in the ongoing miracles in Devin's life. I cried thru the whole book! I am praying for Devin and his family, trusting for God's miracles to continue. I am physically challenged from birth but I have two beautiful, healthy children and a new 5 month old grandson. I have recently gone thru a divorce but I am so blessed! I could spend all day telling you of God's goodness! I'm sure you could too! Roseann of NC

I will pray that he continues to make progress and will be himself 100% one day. He has come a long way. God bless Devin and his family. Terrie Lemesh

God is amazing.
I got to know about this remarkable boy and the miracle that the Lord is performing in his life from 'Rejoice' the fourth in the 'Redemption Series' which I just finished reading. I hereby declare that nothing is impossible with our Almighty God. May He continue to pleasantly surprise Devin and his family and may this testimony bring hope to those who are in difficult situations. God bless you. A. Williams
Devin and your great family: You are an awesome guy and I know God's got big plans for you!! I am inspired when I read of how your entire family has clung to the promises of God!! It makes me want to have a greater faith in the God that cannot fail! He's so good to us all, and He loves us all so much... Keep fighting Warrior Boy.. You're in my thoughts and prayer forever!! -Angie from Oklahoma
I, too, read about Devin in the book "Rejoice", and I join the prayer warriors in believing that God will see His ultimate and perfect will for Devin come to pass. God is just so good and so God. The funny thing is, Devin's story has reminded me of God's awesome power in my own son's life. He and his wife are battling drug addiction, and the way God has shown his mighty strength in Devin's life, against all odds - that's the God we need to move and work in our family. The scripture you quote on the home page, Jeremiah 29:11, has always been my prayer for my son, and I still believe that it's God's promise to him today, just as it is Devin's promise. Thank you for sharing Devin's life - who knew it would give hope to this worried mom in Texas? llj in Texas
Devin, Read about your story in Karen Kingsbury's book. What a continuous miracle you are. I will continue to pray for you and your family. Sincerely, Gabrielle Cisneros Whittier, California

Thank you for this web page. I just finished reading the book Rejoice by Karen Kingsbury and got the web page from her book. Devin is such a cute boy and how people can not believe in God and miracles is beyond me. My kids are 13 and 10 and am thankful that so far we have not experienced any tradgies that life can offer. I will continue to pray for Devin and his recovery and will check back later for updates. God bless you and thanks to Karen for sharing your story in her book. I cannot begin to tell how much this story has impacted me. Only 1 year ago January my niece had a serious accident and she too was considered brain dead that night. The doctors told us she would never walk, talk or be normal. I am happy to say that God gave us a miracle and she is a senior in high school and doing very well. Smart beyond her years. God is Good! I will continue to pray for Devin and your family. God bless, margo
God is amazingly good!!! I have been reading "Rejoice" by Karen Kingsbury and heard about your miracle Devin through that. What an amazing testimony of God's goodness and faithfulness! I have been deeply touched by reading here tonight. Devin is an eternal reminder to never limit God. Give him an extra hug and kiss from me tonight. always, Lindsay www.builtonarock.com
I HEARD OUT YOU AFTER READING KAREN KINGSBURY BOOK. MY PRAYER IS THAT GOD WILL HEAL YOU COMPLETLY AND USE YOU IN A MIGHTY WAY. LOVE IN CHRIST, JANET PEGRAM EADS TN.
Yesterday I began reading a novel....just a simple love story...when it turned into a heartwrenching story of a 3 year old girl's drowning. I looked at my own three year old girl and just cried. So many different emotions...I can't even express. God used that novel to work through some issues in my heart..and at the end, I found out it was based on a true story -yours. I want you to know that God is using Devin's story in lives all around the world. I live in Central Asia...yet somehow that book got to me and I read it...and God has been speaking to me and softening my heart. Thanks for letting your story be shared, thanks for rejoicing in the midst of pain. May God bless dear Devin and may Devin truly have life abundant. I'll be praying for him, I promise.
I just finished reading Karen Kingsbury book, Rejoice, and read your story at the end and just had to come to your site and let you know that I've added Devin and your family to my prayer list and Devin is another of God's wonderful miracles that he sends us everyday. Thanks to Karen Kingsbury for using her God given gifts to write...It was in her book "Rejoice" that she told a story of a child that had drowned and the long journey after, for all involved. In a "word from Karen" (notes at the back of her book), Karen talks of Devin's true story that is very similar to the one in her fictional book. She also mentions this web site, which is a lovely tribute to Devin and the God that loves us all. Through all of this , Karen has pointed us to the one who gives us hope as it is displayed in fiction and in real life....God bless you Karen, and to Devin and his family may God be with you and bless you as well...What a journey...What a hope we have in Jesus!.Praise the Lord for his goodness....My prayers are with you. Lois MacDonald, Prince Edward Island , Canada
Hello and God Bless, I found out about Devin thru reading Karen Kingsbury's Redemption series. I had just finished the 4th book and of course read her words. What a remarkable series. As she wrote about your little one I couldn't help but think of my very own children and grandchildren. How very blessed we are to be given these sweet angels to watch over and care for. You have truly been an inspiration to me, you have strengthened my faith with your story of hope and courage. May God continue to bless you and watch over little Devin. What a sweetheart. His story has touched my very soul. Connie Emert (Texas)

I found your site after reading Karen Kingsburys book entitled Rejoice. I must say it was hard enough to get through the book because I cried so much! I'm sure I went through a whole box of tissue! Then to find out that Karen had based the story on little Devins accident. WOW. I'm sure I used another 1/2 a box of tissue just reading about that and sharing it with my husband and children. I just wanted to say that I was very touched by your story and the amazing miracle that God blessed your family with. I have, and will continue to pray for little Devin and your whole family. I was reading Karen Kingsbury's Redemption series and thought how lovely fiction was that the little girl in the book suvived and was learning how to live again. Little did I know (and little faith did I have) that there was a little boy that was modeled after the book. Your son is beautiful!! God is amazing and your Devin's story truly has touched me. May God continue to bless and keep your family. In Christ, Cheryl Hopkins Anderson, SC

What a miracle. We read about the story in Rejoice by Karen Kingsbury with Gary Smalley. Your story is such a truth of God's faithfulness and grace. We have family in rural, agricultural Arizona and now of the dangers that lie in that area. God's love is amazing and may he continue to love and bless you daily. I was deeply touched by Devin's (and his families) journey. I heard about Devin through the "Rejoice" book. What a joy it is to see God work in ways that we can't comprehend. For Him to gift you with Devin for more time then was expected by man. God does work in mysterious ways. Not everyone has the good ending that you have had, but God has walked alongside them in the same way that he walked alongside Devin and his family. Our God is here to help us in our journey and I was oh so encouraged to see the journey he took with your family. I will continue to pray for Devin and all of you in his recovery and I can't wait to meet him someday in heaven. Tammie

my name is Lisa and I am a mother of a 4 1/2 year old boy who is a near drowning victim. My son's accident happened April 29, 2002 (DOOMS DAY)!!! My son's accident was on the news as was the 911 call. It happened in Surprise, Arizona, in my mom's fish pond. My son was air lifted to PCH where he stayed for 6 weeks. I read about Devin and felt deeply touched. God has touched our lives in ways I never believed would be possible. My son is in developmental preschool and is doing excellent!! Praise the Lord!!! I would love to correspond further with you if possible. I have never been in contact with anyone of similar circumstance. However, my son just started HBOT therapy now because his neurologist never recommended it previously, which has me extremely angry. Anyway, I've since met another mom of a very recent near drowning (her 15 month old daughter). Her and I draw strength from one another. I would love to ask you some developmental questions if you have the time. my email is JACKLOPICC@MSN.COM or I don't mind a phone call (623) 362-0340 thank you for sharing Devin's story. He is so inspirational GOD BLESS
I just read about Devin today, December 4,2005. God is still in the miracle business. I will begin to pray for Devin and for your family. God is so good. PTL Becky
As many of the other entries here I heard about Devin's story through Karen's book. I cried when I read about Hayley in the story and I cried when I read that it came from a real story about Devin. I'm in the medical field and it's amazing to know what God can do through medicine and what kind of boxes we put God in. Thank you for giving me a new outlook on my profession. I'll be praying for Devin. May God continue to bless him and your family. Keep using his story to touch others and teach others of God's work and love. Thank you.
I just finished reading Rejoice by Karen Kingsbury, and was shocked to read at the end of your tragic story, made so real to me in this book! I am sorry for all that you have gone through, but I rejoice in the Lord at His amazing miracles in Devin's life! Thank you for being willing to share with us!
Sending
only loving thoughts and hopeful prayers your way.

I learned about devinsmiracle website from the notes in the back of Karen Kingsbury and Gary Smiley's novel, Rejoice. I caught the authors' hope and wonder at God's power and what He can do. It is miraculous! To know that Karen and Gary wrote carefully documenting the little girl, Haylee,'s recovery from drowning based on Devin's real recovery, has brought me to an awareness of Devin and to realize that there is so much I can learn about God and His people through reading realistic Christian fiction. That's what brought me here today. Hi†
Devin James- It's aunt Sarah. I havent wrote for a very long time and honestly I dont know why. It seems like life takes over and the important things seem to get lost somewhere. You truly are an inspiration to me, little man. When we came over on Christmas and you ran to me to give me a big hug, (you literally ran) I realized I don't spend enough time with you. Holding you and seeing you smile is a testimony of how good god is. Being in your company is such an awesome gift because you truly represent what God can do. You were playing basketball and you are actually very good. I think you only missed one. Anyway, when i went home I realized that I dont spend enough time thanking God for the miracle that you are. There are gonna be challenges everyday in your life but I will always be here for you. Maybe now that you are walking you can come to my house and play in the backyard. There's a song written by Martina Mcbride called God's will, and to me that is what you are. You are here because God wants you here and he has amazing plans for you Devin. I can't wait to see what he has in store for you. You are so amazing and gentle and I cry when I think about you because YOU and what you stand for is exactly what me and everyone else should be thanking God for. I Love you and will get over there as soon as my babies let me ok. Never forget how much you mean to me.I have been with you since you were born and I am not going anywhere. I love you very much Blue eyes!! As soon as you start talking more you can tell mommy you want to come over and play. Excuse my poor typing, im at work and it's 3:00 in the morning!!! See you soon.
