Devin, you are truly a miracle..May God continue to bless you and your family. Jeanne Dempsey, RN..Florence, MS
I have just finished Rejoice from Karen's Series. I cried throughout the book and I cried once more reading Devin's Miracle. Devin is a miracle of God's healing and I will continue to pray for Devin. I have a 3 year old daughter and 2 year old son. I will continue to share your precious miracle with my family and friends. I would like to share something with you and I hope it helps you today as you read this like it did when it was handed to me. God Bless You and Your Precious Family! God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time; enjoying one moment at a time; accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will; that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him forever in the next. The path to the peace of God comes through living and enjoying one day at a time, accepting what cannot be changed instead of worrying about it, trusting in God's loving care and wisdom, and surrendering to his purpose and plan for you life. Jesus makes this promise: "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls." From My Family to Yours The Hunts
Praise God for all that He is doing on Devin's behalf. Never give up!! God is who He says He is and He can do what He says He can do. I'm expecting to soon hear of Devin's complete recovery. Love in Christ, Anne Mitchell

This is awesome. Had to check this out after reading book 4 of the Baxter family. Praise the Lord! Kim Groenewold, South Holland, IL
Devin, You are AMAZING!
I read devin's story in the back of Rejoice by Karen Kingsbury. I hae now looked at teh picures and read up on him more and have fallen in love with this little boy. God is truly great and thanks to Devin's story and God's greatness I can see God working in my life. I am praying for Devin as is my entire prayer circle here and their prayer circles. God Bless you all
Dear Devin, You are such a precious gift of God. I thank him for you and for your great Parent's who believe in a God that is greater than any Doctor's prognosis! I look forward to learning about future miracles that I believe will come! Diane W
I heard about Devin through the book REJOICE by Karen Kingsbury and Gary Smalley and had to check the site because 31 years ago my 4 year old Christopher was lost to drowning. It was wonderful to hear of Devin's Miracle. I thank God for his goodness to Devin. MJF, Florida
When I saw the last entry, today's date--April 29--I thought, "Isn't it amazing--People from Kenya to Vermont are reading Karen Kingsbury booksat the same time, and esp. "Rejoice." And yes, I, too, thought Hayley's situation was "fiction." I should not have been surprised, though, since it was 25 years ago today, even this time, that God saved my then 9 year old son from what should havebeen a fatal car/bike accident. It, too, was a miracle--and as wonderful as miracles are, many times they involve us in a long healing process which is not always easy and convenient--but which always gives God the Glory and causes us to grow more like Him. I will be praying for Devin and his family and for their continued needs.
Devin, i read your web page after reading Rejoice.(Karen Kingsbury) I thank God for your fighting spirit. You will live to declare God's goodness. Psalms 118. I leave you with my favourite verse Exodus 14:14 ...'the Lord will fight for you, you need only to be still..' Chematia Mulwa chematia@gmail.com nairobi, Kenya Africa
My mom read Karen's book and passed it to me I was so greatful I read it God Bless!-Kaitlin Wingo
I just finished reading the Karen Kingsbury book, Rejoice and heard about Devin. How loving and gracious our Savior is, I will continue to pray for Devin. I'm sure the Lord has plans for this young man. Blessings to Devin and his family- Sue Keck Chambersburg Pa
MIRACLE. I HONESTLY DON'T KNOW WHAT TO SAY! ONLY WE SERVE AN AWESOME GOD. I BROUGHT KAREN KINGSBURY BOOK, JUST OUT OF CURIOSITY. U SEE I LOVE TO READ. I BELIEVED I WAS READING A FICTION BOOK, SO IT TOOK ME FOREVER BECAUSE FROM THE ONSET I SAID, NO ONE CAN SURVIVE THAT LONG WITHOUT OXYGEN. IMAGINE MY SURPRISE A FEW MINUTES AGO (AFTER COMPLETING THE BOOK)TO REALIZE THAT THE STORY WAS BASED ON REAL LIFE EXPERIENCE. ALL I CAN SAY TRHAT WE CANNOT LIMIT GOD! AND WHEN SCIENCE SAYS NO, GOD SAYS YES, BECAUSE AFTER ALL HE CREATED SCIENCE. SO TAKE HEART FAMILY, A LOT OF PRAYERS ARE GOING UP FOR YOU. THE DAYS OF MIRACLE ARE NOT YET OVER. TANK YOUR FOR ALLOWING THE AUTHOR TO SHARE YOUR STORY, AS THE GOOD BOOK STATESIN 2COR.4:17 "COMPARED TO THE GLORIOUS FUTURE THAT AWAITS US, OUR TROUBLES ARE SMALL, THEY GAIN FOR US ETERNAL BLESSINGS THAT OUTWEIGHANY PRESENT AFFLICTIONS". GOD BLESS. TB JAMAICA
I know it's been a few years since Devin's accident but I thank God for the miracle he truly is. I will continue to keep him and his family in my prayers of thanksgiving because even through all his victories, he needs to have encouragement every day of his life as well as Mom & family. It doesn't just stop when you've hit the big milestones. There are days when nothing seems to go right and you ask "Why?"; God alone knows the answers and until we meet Him face to face, we need to enocurage, exhort and lift this family up whether it is through prayer or actions. They need to know that they are not alone and that what they feel is normal. God gave us emotions for a reason. It's how we respond to them that makes the difference. We could become bitter and resentful of our situation or thankful and grateful-what God commands us to do. In that action, we bring Him glory & honor through this tragedy turned victory! Be blessed, young Devin! God has a mighty plan for you and your family through this!!!
GOD IS GOOD!!!! THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR MIRACLE. AS A BELIEVER, I HAVE HAD THE PRIVELEGE OF SEEING MIRACLES WITHIN MY COMMUNITY AND DEVIN IS NO DOUBT, AN EXAMPLE OF GOD'S WILL FOR OUR LIFE AND HOW HE CAN USE TRAGEDY TO REVEAL HIS GRACE AND OMNIFICIENT POWER TO OTHERS. I WISH YOUR FAMILY ALL THE LOVE, AND CONTINUED FAITH AS DEVIN CONTINUES TO GROW AND DEVELOP AND DEMONSTRATE HOW GREAT OUR GOD IS. IN CHRISTIAN LOVE, DONNA HOWELL COURTLAND, VA
I read about Devin in Karen Kingsbury's book "Rejoice" and I truly believe in God's ability to heal! You are all in my thoughts and prayers as Devin continues to make progress! Yes, I Believe in Miracles! God Bless You All! In Christ, J.Edwards

I have just finished reading Karen Kingsbury's novel "REJOICE" and I read about Devin and looked up the website... It's great to see how far Devin has come in his recovery. Our God is an amazing God! Your family is forever in our prayers! REJOICE in the Lord always...Again I say "REJOICE!"
Hi, I also read 'the book'. Devon, you are a child who God is using in very special ways. We have a son who developed typically until he was about 3 years old. He didn't drown in water, but he drowned in seizures so severe, he lost everything that he knew. He couldn't sing anymore, talk anymore, or hardly even look anymore. Now our Jason is 9 years old. He can smile again. Oh how he can smile!! His whole heart and soul are in his smile! He can sing again, and is such a joy to watch. We know that whatever God does in his life, it is going to be glorifying to Him. What more do we want!!!!........but to glorify our God and Saviour? Well Devon, God is using you to teach so many people what a great God He is. Praise his name!!
I just finished reading Daren Kinsbury's book Rejoice. I will pray for Devin and especially that he will be successfully potty trained. God bless your family as you face the challenges ahead and I rejoice with you in God's miracles. In Christ, a Friend in Mesa, arizona...nancy Russell
I just finished reading Karen Kingsbury book "Rejoice" and saw your website at the end of the book. As I read about the young girl who drowned in the book, I thought of how unreal it seemed and could not imagine a parent going through such an awful experience. When I realized that this truly happened and read Devin's progress over these past years I rejoice in God's amazing power. I am going to pray hard for Devin, your family, and all Devin's therapists. I will watch for Devin to tell his story one day. What an inspiration each of you are to others. I also have to share that my youngest son is 5 and is a Devin James, and he too has a MeMe. God bless you and your family. Amy Kelley - The Woodlands, TX
God bless you for your faith and Love. Devin is beautiful. Prayer and faith cures all. My husband was born with cerebral palsy. His parents were told he would be a vegetable. Everytime he did something the doctors said he'd never do, his mother took him to proove medicine wrong and God right. His parents are are christians, baptized in Jesus name and filled with the Holy Ghost. They layed hands on him, prayed and annointed him with oil. The is now 38 years old. He drives a tractor trailer. He walks, talks and sometimes can outthink me. We are praying for you. - The McCray family
Devin, I heard about your story by reading Karen Kingsbury's book Rejoice. I will pray for you and your family, for your getting out of diapers, and for your continued healing. God Bless You. Kandy
Devin's family, I just finished reading Karen Kingsbury's book, "Rejoice" and was shocked to read that Haley's story in the book belonged to a real child. I have to admit that as I read the book I kept saying to myself, "these aren't real people, get ahold of yourself!". When I read Karen's note at the end about Devin I had to visit your site. We just adopted two emotionally special needs kids and it has been so hard, yet so fulfilling, so reading Devin's story was especially meaningful. Devin and his sweet family will now be on my prayer list. I wish blessings to you and yours. Keep kissing your awesome boy! Sandra Nardoni, Anderson Indiana

I too read about Devin's accident in Karen Kingsbury's book. Devin's story is just proof that God is GREAT....and that we all should believe in the power of prayers! Rejoice! May God continue to bless you all! South Carolina
I found out about Devin from Karen Kingsbury's Redemption Series Books. Awesome! It reminds me of how great our God is!!! As her books keep reminding me...He's in the business of miracles. God bless you all and your family is in my prayers. Thank you for your faithfulness to believe in God's devine miracles. Thank you for your example of not giving up.
Dear Devin and his family, I just finished "Rejoice" by Karen Kingsbury. I shouldn't be surprised that there really in a child like Hayley. She gets so much information and details from life itself. "Hayley" touched my heart. So Devin touched my heart. Thank you for being willing to share your story with her and, therefore, her many readers. I praise God with you as you bring Devin and your other children up in God's Word and watch God work miracles that we could never imagine. I will pray for your family upon every thought of you. Sincerely, Jan
What an amazing miracle! Thank you for reminding me, once again, just how powerful our God really is. Heather Day, Momence, IL

I just finished reading about your son in Karen kingsburys Rejoice.God sure is good!! You have a beautiful son,and Im happy to have heard about this miracle.God bless you and your family.
Your story is an inspiration to me of God's power and grace. My son has cerebral palsy and I have come to accept his diagnosis instead of praying for God to heal him. Thank you for sharing your story. It has changed my way of thinking and the limits I have put on my Lord.
Thanks for sharing your miracle, Devin, with us!I learned about him after reading Rejoice by Karen Kingsbury. I have to admit that when I was reading the book I was thinking "No one gets these kind of miracles in real life. It is just so we can have a happy ending." What little faith we as believers can have. I will pray that Devin will continue to heal and be the blessing that I know he is. Love in Christ, Tammy
Hello, I've visited last year already after our own boys, mine and my best friends son drowned in the neighbors pool after climing a 6 ft. wall. It is amazing how Devin recovered and we pray that he will continue to do well! He's such an amazing, beautiful, handsome young little man now! God bless you all!
How wonderful to hear about Devins progress, God is truly a work of art. I pray that God continues to bless your family. Thank-you for sharing this with me Tania Dove
I pray for Devin tonight and his family his story is an amazing example of God's love. The love that comes from family and brings people together to see God's great works. God bless you Devin, you are a miracle.
Hi. My name is Carmel Cox from New Zealand. I have just finished Karen Kingsbury's book rejoice when I read her note about Devin and now I am here in your website with eyes full of tears of Joy. I have a one year old and a two year old little girl (both asleep yaaay) and so when I read about the accident the pain was raw. After reading the recovery page my tears took a different turn and I just wanted to thank you for your website. My husband and I are very aware of life being as a vapour and address life accordingly but our webite (and my girl's age) touched my heart to appreciate God and His goodness and the life we have here on earth just that bit more. Your faith and courage and love and determination are truly amazing! The power of prayer never ceases to astound me daily and your darling beautiful little boy is a true testimony of the Father's heart. Firstly through letting Devin live and secondly in your demonstration of it. You only need to look at the photos to see the light and love in your eyes. Be blessed immeasurably, stay strong, keep going and most of all trust God for more as more will come I am sure! Our thoughts and prayes are with you, Clinton and Carmel, Emmanuelle Joy and Olivia Hope Cox xx
I read about this tragedy in a Karen Kingsbury book. What an inspiration. Thank you for sharing Devin's story with the world. Jon James/92 Moose radio, Augusta Maine
I've just finished reading Karen Kingsbury's book Rejoice, and was compelled to go to your site. Again God is so good. We so many times follow the world's standards instead of remembering our God is bigger than all this. Thank You for sharing your story. I pray Devin still improves even today. In Christ's infinite Love, Diana Pope d3t7p@windstream.net
I thank God for Devin's miracle. You were the inspiration for the story in Karen Kingsbury book "Rejoice". The heart of the story touched me and many others,. Thanks Devin for your spirit! God will continue to bless you and you are a testimony of God's grace!
I found your website from Karen Kingsbury's book, Rejoice. I am amazed by your faith and encouraged by Devin's healing progress, and your family's uplifting writings. Being a mother of two, ages close to yours, I could relate to many of the feelings you described, the pain you feel when one of your children is hurt or ill. From a different perspective of being a physician, I realize that Devin's miracle, is just that, a divine intervention, going beyond medical explanation and truly from the Lord. I prayed tonight for Devin's continued healing and I already believe our prayers are being answered. With love and prayers, Cristina, Wichita, KS.
Your story has touched my heart on so many levels. I too, like many others, just read Karen Kingsbury's "Rejoice". I wept and rejoiced for you and for your family. I had to read your story to my husband and couldn't hold back the tears. Jeremiah 29:11 is one of my life verses - God has good plans for us - full of hope and a future. He doesn't say that we will be spared pain or heartache but that if we take him with us as we go through it - then he will bring us to a glorious conclusion!!! I am still amazed at God's mercy, grace, and love! I feel like Devin is an angel here on earth. I too feel like I have been given one of God's angels - my husband and I adopted our son almost two years ago this month. Elmo is one of my son's favorites - his first birthday was the biggest display of Elmo I had ever seen!! He too loves the movie Cars - as you can guess - this years theme is Cars!!! When I read your story I put myself in your place and truly felt your pain - as a mother we want to protect them from everything but is so comforting knowing that God was and is there all the while - holding onto our children and never letting them go!! I was so happy to see that Karen included Devin's website in her book - I have read it in it's entirity and rejoiced with you that our God is sooooo good! I have committed you, Devin, and your family to my heart and prayers - I will continue to pray for you and when I am able, I will make a financial contribution to your family. Sisters in Christ forever, Jenny McHolland
My prayers are with you and I can see that God is truly working in your life. God is awesome. I have just been reading Karen Kingsbury's book, Rejoice and I found this website. I just wanted to add my prayers too.
I, too, just read "Rejoice" by Karen Kingsbury and just have to say GOD IS AWESOME! His perfect will and timing are so amazing, even in things that seem like disasters! I will continue to pray for you, Devin, and know that God will work His perfect will in your life! Heather Currie, Kenly, NC

May He, in his mercifulness bring you to full health and bless you one day with a family of your own. I have a nephew who needed lots of special care in his young life - he is now 24 and holds a very special spot in my heart and I've decided you should now share this spot in my heart with Darryl so each time I pray for him or hug him, I'll be praying for you and hugging you to. Hi it is Liz here, Ashleigh's mum (ND 5th dec 05). We have followed Devins miracle with much hope and are thrilled with his progress. How are things going now? Ashleigh is progressing well physically but not as much mentally as Devin. How frequent was the patterning that you did and was it flat on the table or suspended? Our email is ashminiwench@yahoo.com.au and Ashleighs website is www.dropshots.com/miniwench
It is such a wonderful blessing to read of the miracle of Devin's life. I first heard of him on the news when the accident happened but never knew of the wonder of it all until I read Karen Kingsbury's book, "Rejoice". I pray for Devin's continued recovery, and I so admire your family for sharing their story with me through your web site.
Wow! Just reading Devin's recovery puts new hope in my heart. A retired pastor I know doesn't believe miracles happen today or are needed. I don't know what else you would call this healing of Devin's. God is still working miracles in the lives of His people. Praying for Devin and family as the miracle continues. God bless -- Susan

You are getting alot of press from your friend Karen Kingsbury. What a ministry you both have proving that God IS God and His will is supreme. I have almost finished the Redemption series and just remembered I wanted to look up your little miracle. I remember quite a few years ago being a camp counselor at a Young Life camp and one of the campers was a drowning victim when he was four. I don't remember how long he was in the water, but I do remember he had a Christian maturity that was astounding for a high schooler. Thanks for your inspirational page Terri E. North Bend, OR
Tonight I just finished reading Karen Kinsbury's "Rejoice". Please know that Devin will be in my prayers now and for the days to come. God is truly amazing! Debbie B Tryon, North Carolina
I just finished reading "Rejoice" by Karen kingsbury and I had to write. last night, when I was in the middle of the book, I prayed for children suffering like Hayley. Then tonight, I read the epilogue and learned about Devin. I will pray specifically for him tonight. He looks like an angel and he has touched my heart. May God continue to bless your family and Devin.
I read about you from reading Karen Kingsbury's book (rejoice). I live in Phoenix and have a 5 1/2 yr old boy and a 9 yr old girl. Your story really touched me and I am so inspired by your strength and joy you get from God. Devin is beautiful and I am so happy for you. What a precious little guy. My prayers are with you. Love, Charlotte Dunlap
I found your website through a novel I was reading by Karen Kingsbury. I am in awe of God's goodness and his miracle working power being displayed in Devin. You all will be in my prayers and God will continue to do exceedingly abundantly anything you could ever ask or think. Love in Christ, Erin Ragsdale
I have just completed Karen's book "Rejoice" and the additional note on Devin made me go to the website. Our God is simply AMAZING and he starts where we think all hope is lost. There is indeed no telling what God can do with our simple childlike faith. I believe God still has so much instore for Devin Keep the faith!!!Bunmi Oyefeso, Nigeria
We thank God for Devin's Miracle and we pray for continued health for him and your whole family. God bless you ~ Pastor and Kathy Bradley
GOD is so good. I am sure he will use Devin for His honor and glory. I too read about him through Karen Kingsbury's book. May God bless you and your family.
I was a nurse when they brought Tara Nason into the hospital and I could not believe what had happened to this beautiful little girl. She was so brain damaged that they couldn't even insert a stimulater in her brain which was nothing but mush. I was fortunate enough to be able to take care of her in her home several years later. What a joy to marvel at each milestone in a child's life who seemed doomed to be vegetable the rest of her life and now she is a vivacious young woman, still in a wheelchair but very active in helping others. Later the man I married had a severe stroke 7 years later and for 18 years I cared for him even though he could not walk, talk, read or write. I wouldn't trade those years for all the 'normal' years of my life. God uses these opportunities to change us and bless others. Bob was such a blessing to others in a way where as a rocket scientist he had only hurt others. He became born again 6 months after his stroke and a blind man led him to the Lord after a Billy Graham movie! I have so mnay special memories of him that I have never grieved his passing. When our grandson died from a surfing accident at the age of 23, Bob wheeled himself into the bedroom where our son was lying on his bed, not wanting to live without Jay, and sang, "Jesus Love you this I know" all the way though. Then he patted the bed and said "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus" with the compassion of our Savior. Five minutes later Doug got up and walked into the living room where our family waited for him. This would not have meant the same from one of us who could talk. Don't ever give up on Devin as God will use him in a way you never dreamed possible. Bob told everyone he met about Jesus by raising 3 fingers and pointing to a person with a question mark, then looking at me to tell them what that meant. Your son will be such a testimony of God's grace and miracle working power you will rejoice at how God used what Satan meant for evil fo His glory. Blessings, Pat Haldin, Orange, CA
Our thoughts and prayers are with you still...miracles happen every year, month, day, second. Devin keeps us going everyday knowing God is with everyone! Kansas Family
I learned of Devin's story in Karen Kingsbury's book "Rejoice," as many others have. As the mother of a healthy five year old daughter and three year old son, I thank God everyday for these precious blessings. Your faith in God through this miracle is awesome. I will pray that Devin continues to improve every day!
I am a 23year old female living in south africa. I've just completed the 4th book in the Redemption series and was reading Devin's story at the back. I just ahd to go onto his website and read it for myself and by the time I was done I couldn't read because of the tears coming fast and heavy. He truly is a miracle boy and God is not done with him yet!!! There is more where all those miracles came from and I'm going to join the long list of prayer warriors in our task ahead: That is to see Devin a strong boy and just the way he was before that fateful accident. Never forget that my prayers for your family and Devin are from now on a constant and I will be logging on every now and then to see his progress God loves you and your family and like I said, He's not done yet- not by a long-shot... lots of love and prayers Claudine
I learned of devin's accident through one of Karen Kingsbury books. Please know that my prayers are with you. Remember GOD NEVER FAILS! He WILL see you through, He is our Healing Jesus! Cheryl J. Eleuthera Bahamas
God is so great! Wow! That the Lord would allow Devin to come back at all, and then to allow him to continue to heal daily shows His mercy and grace. I'll pray for Devin's continued healing. Praise God!
Devin, I, too found out about you in the book "Rejoice" by Karen Kingsbury. I pray that your continue to learn and grow through your miracle, and that God blesses you and all of your supportive family members. BKW, Dayton, Ohio
I just finished Karen Kingsbury's "Rejoice." I was so moved by your family's faith as I read the insert about your Devin. I work with children birth to three years old who have special needs. It is amazing to see how the children improve and grow. I love running into families whose children have aged out of our program and seeing how God still performs miracles. I can't tell you how many children I have met whose docs gave them a set amount of months or years left and the children have by-passed their prognosis by years! I love what you have written on Devin's "Prognosis" page! Thank you for your Faith and Love and God bless Devin and your family! Thanks, Stephanie Hicklin

God is so good!! Devin is living proof.
God is so good!! Devin is living proof.
God is so good. I recently lost my father from a heart attack. He was on life support for a week, and we went through the whole brain injury...wondering...not knowing. I know that his death was part of God's plan, just as sure as I know that had it been his will my dad could have come back to us as well. Your son is living proof that God is real, that He is involved in our lives in every way, and that HE can do ANYTHING!!! Praise God from whom all blessings flow! I just read Karen Kingsbury's book for the first time, and that is how i found out about your precious miracle. God Bless you!
Dear Devin's family, How encouraging to read of another of the LORD's marvelous works! We have another one of those works in our grandson, Geoffrey. He is autistic and does not say a lot yet (he's 71/2). He loves to listen and watch Bible tapes that are nothing more than Alexander Scourby reading the KJV with pastoral scenes being shown. Before we heard him say anything else he one day picked up our large Bible, started marching in a circle in our living room and began quoting the Psalms from memory each word being one we could clearly understand. The LORD knows the plans He has for each life and He makes each of us to fit those plans. He has something very special in mind for the Devins and Geoffreys of this world. Keep believing and sharing the miraculous works that Jesus is doing! Sharon Wright New Albany, IN
God is awesome! What an amazing story! I just finished reading Rejoice and questioned all the way through it if a child could really recover from being underwater so long. Then I came to this website. Our God is soooo Good! Thank you for sharing Devin's story. I will keep him and your family close in prayer. Marie Tremmel Albuqueque, New Mexico
I am reading karen kingsburg's book and she wrote about Devin's miracle. I believe that God has brought me to these books to understand the pain that I am going through. My husband left me for another women. We where a christain family and he meet her at church. I left the church for about 6 months and I lost my joy. But know I am back and have my joy back. Don't know why god wanted me to tell you this, but I felt that you needed to know how what you went through has help me to heal. I will pray you you and your family and God said that Devin will be just fine. May God give you that peace. Dana Jones
I was sent to this website after reading "The Redemption Series." I want you to know that my prayers are with you all. When I read your introduction of Devin, my 3 year old Kohlby comes to mind. He is just the same!! Fearless!! I can tell how strong your family is, faith never lets us down. Just know that people all over the world, that have never met you, are saying a prayer right now for your forever healing of that awful day.
I am an avid fan of Karen Kingsbury and when I found out that "Haley" was based on an actual child and events in his life, I just had to visit your sight to learn more. I can see by his picture he is adorable and a fighter. Children are one of our most precious gifts from God. Now that I know your situation I will be praying for you because now Devin is in my heart. Our God can do anything and I am sure you have enough witness in that with your precious little angel. Isn't God wonderful.
I'm a fan of Karen Kingsbury and read about Devin at the end of one of her books. Devin is truly a miracle and my prayers are with him and his entire family. Mary Boze Kentucky

I first learned about Devin while reading the 4th book of the Redemption series written by Karen Kingsbury. In her personal note at the end she shared about Devin and how the fictional story of Hailey resembled much of what had happened with Devin. I don't know Devin, but I felt led to this website and to pray for him. May God's peace be with you and may you always rejoice in the life that Devin has been able to have. Love, Jena

Hi Devin. Its Samantha, your cousin from Phoenix. I miss being able to visit you more often. Last time I saw you I couldnt believe my eyes. You not only walked, but you ran and tackled me from behind, just as I would suspect any four year old boy to do. You are back to the fearless, busy body that you were before the accident. I am so proud of you. Every time I leave you, I wonder what new things you will accomplish before our next visit. Well I just wanted to write and say hello and thaT I love and miss you... I cant wait to here your sweet little voice and see you run down the sidewalk again to hug me. See you really soon. Love, Sammy

Hi, I read about Devin in the post comment section of Karen Kingsbury "Rejoice". It touched me and brought some tears. I have a grandson Devin, who is 6'3''at age 17, a football player on his varsity team in Corunna MI. Just maybe, your Devin will play football when he is in high school! God has been so good and yes, he does have a plan for your Devin. God is good--all the time! I am anxious to read Karen's next book in the series, to follow Haley's recovery. And yes, I am so glad that you followed your heart and God's nudges, when the doctors thought there was no hope, allowing God's miracle to happen! Elaine Pratt, Owosso, MI

Astonishing is all I can say. Hello, Devin, I couldnt help but visit your website after reading Karen Kingsbury book " Rejoice". You are indeed a miracle! simply Devine! I would continue praying for you from Nigeria here. Regards Collette
What an inspiring story of a very determined little boy. what a beautiful smile.
I was so touched to read your website! I found it in one of Karen Kingsbury's books. (I'm addicted to them!) I also have a miracle child (but aren't they all some kind of miracles?) I want to encourage you to keep believing in the miracle for his speech. My child was unable to speak clearly. He was born seven weeks early after most of the pregnancy being pre-eclamptic and toximic. he arrived at a healthy weight and breathing on room air within 2 hours. But 6 months into his life, his head was shaped odd. We found he had a condition where the soft spots close early. We opted not to have surgery. By 19 months Kalen was not walking or talking where anyone could understand. They suspected different types of brain damage. But to make a long story shorter, God gave me several promises throughout his lifetime. One being that he would speak clearly and walk. He gave me the scripture from Exodus 4:10-12. "Now go; I will help you speak". I claimed that promise that day! Kalen has just celebrated his 12th birthday. You would never know anything was ever wrong. He runs and jumps and plays basketball for the school. He gets good grades and loves Jesus! When we opted not to have the surgery, the doctor said "I hope you can live with yourself when your son is grotesquely mis-shapen!" I told him that day that God was in control and told us not to have the surgery. Today, only close friends and family (and his barber) know that anything is different about his head. He's a beautiful boy! God is sooooo good. Thank-you so much for reminding me to look back in Kalen's baby book and remember. Thank-you for sharing your pain and your triumphs. God bless all of you and God bless Devin. God has BIG PLANS for him! Stephanie Roedl
Devin is the cutest little merical when i look at him and how good he's doing i think Man our God is good love Jenniffer doss

Devin! It looks as if you are doing amazing! Last night when I got done reading an amazing book, I heard that the story line feel along the same lines of what you were going through. Right then, not knowing the conditions I said a little prayer to Jesus, I said "Lord, I do not know this boy, but since you are God, heal this boy and make him be able to run, jump and play once again!" You look amazing! God Bless Devin and Family! With Love, Jaianne vision4heaven@hotmail.com
Devin looks like he is smiling in almost all of his pictures...he is an awesome reminder of what God can accomplish. Your guys' faith is a great inspiration. Devin, I am praying for you, buddy! Rachel Schultz

Hi Devin, I am so excited to hear you are doing so very well. Praise be to our awesome God! I just learned of your story by reading Karen Kingsbury's book, "Rejoice". And, I am rejoicing for you and your family. I am grateful to have the opportunity to pray for your continued healing and look forward to following your story to see what God does in your life. I know it's going to be wonderful. Oh, how special you are and how greatly you are loved by your Father in Heaven! Love to you sweet child, Bunny Brea, California
Hi! I had just finished reading another of Karen Kingsbury's books,Rejoice and I read about your precious Devin. I am a respiratory therapist and I worked at PCH for quite awhile. (I no longer work now due to my disability with arthritus.) I have seen so many things come through the doors, but I always put God's plans way above man's medicine. I never hesitated to pray with or for my patients. I was once asked, aren't you afraid of getting fired? What better reason to lose a job! Anyway! I was so encouraged by your story. We have a little girl, (who's not so little anymore!) Who was born with Cornelia De Lange syndrome. When she was finally diagnosed, we were told that she would never walk, talk, and would'nt live past the age of 6 yrs. She is now 24! She is very high functioning, talks up a storm, played baseball, and graduated high school! So, I know first hand that God has a plan for each one of us and bounderies cannot be put on God's plans. I will be praying for you and Devin and also rejoicing in what God has already done! CHrist's Blessings! Becky Keleb bkeleb@msn.com
After reading Karen Kingsbury's book "Rejoice" I read about little Devin who suffered a bad drowning. I think it's amazing how God has heald Devin despite all he went through. This shows just how awesome God is! With God everything is possible especially when we trust him. I am praying that God will continue to shine his face upon Devin and his family. I would just like to share a verse that I love and that you probably all know it's from Proverbs 3:5-6 " Trust in the lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding." " in all your ways acknowledge him and he shall direct your path" Continue to trust in God! Please read Psalm 121 and Psalm 91! I am sure God in all his grace will continue to sustain Devin and his family. May God Bless you all. Tell little Devin that he's got people in Kenya even praying 4 him! With heartfelt love and sincerity, Sandra Muhwezi (15) Kenya, Africa

Hi! Devin and family. My name is Francesca Carella and i'm from Perú. I just finished reading Kingsburry Redemption series, and when I read her words, I couldn't believe what I was reading. That book challenged my faith. Yes, we all know God is good and there's nothing impossible for him...but, trully I didn't, couldn't BELIEVE He could do something as healing a brain damage child. Untill I entered this web site, I was conviced it was all fiction, but now, I've seen with my OWN EYES that YES everything is possible for him. Be sure to count on my prayers for Devin's speech abilities and all the people who loves him. Know also, that God is using your son and his circumstances to change lifes, mine is one. Thanks God and ,of course, you for the idea of this web site. In his love, Francesca

I pray he has a story to tell of meeting Jesus and walking with Him, hand-in-hand during his accident, because we all know he wasn't alone! May God continue to Bless you all!! Hello Devin and Family, My name is Rebecca McKee. I live in Orlando, Fl. with my husband and 3 children; Alex(7), Ansley(4), and Aidan(1). I just read the novel "Rejoice" and read about you. That book was so gripping. I would lay in bed while reading and just cry and cry. Then I'd go in and pray over my kids while they slept and love on them and pray that God would spare us that kind of pain. Then I got to the end and realized that it was based on a true story. I just logged onto your website and am once again in tears. praise God for miracles! We will lift you up in prayer tonight and ask God to give you your hearts desire; for a complete and full recovery of speach for Devin. I am amazed at his story of healing and that he survived! What an incredible witness of hope and perseverence. There is a family here in town whose daughter, Jennifer, went missing 6 months ago; the Kesse family. through this book and your story God told me not to give up praying for her safe return. Please pray for them. Their website is www.findjenniferkesse.com. God bless you! In Him, Rebecca and family

Thank you for sharing your stories. Sincerely, Ashley in Indiana
As most of the people who have written in your guest book, I too have just finished reading Karen Kingsbury's book, "Rejoice". Hearing about Devin's miracle just reminds me that we serve a GREAT BIG GOD!! So often we get caught up in the "every day" of our lives and tend to forget that God is so much more than our finite minds can imagine. It is also easy to read about such a scary occurrence in a book but to find out it was fashioned after a real person..wow. You don't know me Devin, but you will be added to my prayers. What an AWESOME God we serve!! Keep doing what you do best, Lord!! S.Streete, Brooklyn NY
I just read Karen Kingsbury's book and read the back pages inside, and it told about Devin. Truly a miracle. In Christ, Sheila Modesto CA

Dear Devins family, I can't tell you how much the story of little Devin touched my heart when I finished reading the book called "Rejoice" and found out that Kevin was a real boy. I have just finished Karen Kingbury's "Rejoice." When I read the account of Devin's accident, I decided to check out this link. Her story and yours touches my heart. Deeply. May you continue to know the power and presence of our Father and stand strong in Him. May you grow "better" and not "bitter" in the storms of life. May He bring forth beauty from the ashes and give back what the years of locust have stolen. Above all, may He draw hearts to Himself and many find salvation as they see your lives. Blessings in Jesus' name, Heather Baker McGaheysville, Virginia

I just finished reading Rejoice by Karen Kingsbury; she mentions Devin and this website at the end of the book. What a miracle! Praise God!
I have read the book "Rejoice" by Karen Kingsbury and Gary Smalley and that is where I read about Devin. All through reading the book, tears came down and all I was thinking about when reading was my 3 year old daughter and how she loves to swim etc. Just before I picked up the book at the library, my daughter went on a camping trip with her caretaker and the funny thing is I had a dream about her drowning at camp. I woke up in fear and my heart was beating fast. I have no idea what brought that to my head. Then two days after she came back from camping, I brought her to story hour at the library and so I decided to pick a book for myself to read (This book was the first book I have read in over 12 years) When I read the description on the back of the book I was drawn to it. It was not until I read Karen Kingsbury article in the back of the book that I knew that this book was based on a real story. Devin's story so I had to look at this website and take a look at the progress. I am so happy for the family and Devin that he made such a miraculous comeback. I believe in prayer and in God and I know that He does work miracles and I am happy to see one of His miracles here in this website. It is amazing. Crystal Hymel - Louisiana

It is so encouraging to hear the stories of God's incredible work in our ordinary, everyday lives. You and your family are truly a blessing to the rest of us. I pray you continue to improve daily and I also pray for your family, that they forever keep their faith in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior! God Bless You!! :)

We have a son who was born with special needs. He is now 17 years old. We have seen God work miracles in his life too. When reading your story my thoughts went back to when Travis was young and all the progress he has made. God has taken us by the hand along the way. Travis may need a wheelchair, feeding tube and vent support but God uses him every day to show His love to others. I will pray for Devin and his family that God will bless you as you serve Him through your love for Devin. connie@macguinness.org
